ABOUT

Offstage introvert and craver of order. On-stage chatterbox and bringer of random chaos. Occasionally remembers to stop talking and play some music.

She considers herself somewhat genre fluid but then later thought is a rubbish was to describe yourself to someone looking for music to suit their mood. If it's a live show you're attending then it will most likely be her and her acoustic guitar (bit weird referring to self in 3rd person..). The album however ticks the boxes of folk, rock/blues, jazzy-ish and some other stuff she's yet to define. Sometimes the songs will be dark and at other times daft. Whatever keeps you all guessing. Failed short bio writer..

(and the old proper grown up bio..)

I, Claudia plays a colourful mixture of musical styles – mellow yet uplifting acoustic sweetness with hints of folk, jazz, soul and a good sense of fun!!

Career highlights have included playing venues such as the Cambridge Folk Festival Club stage, London Shepherds Bush Empire, O2 Academy in Sheffield, The Cambridge Corn Exchange and BBC radio.

In August 2021 she released her debut solo album “Storms & Silver Linings”. It is an eclectic mix with elements of folk, jazz, blues/rock and even classical. The album has been described as a thing of beauty and a tonic for the world we live in today.

“If there is a more upbeat and positive person in Cambridge than Claudia McKenzie then I’d like to meet that person,” (Phyll, Cambridge Fund Raiser & Gig Organiser).

"Claudia seems to be more enjoyable every time I've seen her by not being afraid to experiment with songs covering a variety of subjects delivered with wit, great musical skill and one of the most engaging personalities around." (Michael Judkins - Float Like A Butterfly project)
